Introducing the “FACU”: Behind the Scenes of Our Recent Kickstarter Video

If you haven’t seen the latest installment of the FACU, you really should. So, what the eff is the FACU?

Well, it’s not a tech-nerd’s creative new swear (sheesh, get your mind out of the gutter!), it’s the “Font Awesome Cinematic Universe, natch!

We just had to get the band back together again.

If you’ve kept up with Font Awesome’s shenanigans over the years, chances are you’ve seen one of our zany videos. Since 2017, we’ve had the distinct pleasure of working with Knox Avenue, a fantastic creative studio who shot our first Kickstarter video and all of the others that followed.

When we made the decision to transform Shoelace into Web Awesome, we just had to get Knox Avenue and our original Font Awesome video cast onboard for the making of the Web Awesome kickstarter video. As luck would have it, they were excited to work with us again and the cinematic magic ensued!

From production design to set building, each actor played a crucial role in shaping the Kickstarter video. Special shoutouts to Jordan, the director extraordinaire, and the ever-enthusiastic Rob, who embodied the spirit of Font Awesome (in all three of our fa-videos) with classic charm.

And here’s a little trivia for you: both Rob and Jordan sort of came out of marketing-video-retirement to be a part of this project as they both have moved on in their respective careers into other endeavors. We’re so thankful for their willingness to hop aboard the Good Ship Font Awesome once again!

Being on set with the tried and true crew was as fun as ever and included the requisite slapstick hilarity at each turn.
