Web Awesome 3.2: Files, Numbers, Sparklines + AI Boosts in 3.2.0!

🗞️ _Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

_Web Awesome 3.2 has hit the scene with three new components, boosts for AI coding assistants, updates to <wa-icon>, and much more.

🦁 Files and 🐯 Numbers and 🐻 Sparklines — Oh My!

Fresh off the press: 3.2 brings you two new components in WA Pro and one more in WA Free —

The new <wa-file-input> in WA Pro offers improved UX compared to native HTML file inputs. Select or drag and drop. Upload one file or many. And, importantly, select specific files to remove, even if multiple have been uploaded. 🤯

Upload as many opossum images as you like with <wa-file-input>

In WA Free, everyone gets <wa-number-input> — a slick, numbers-only field with larger stepper buttons than the HTML equivalent offers.

Count anything from blessings to sheep with

Finally, welcome the new <wa-sparkline> in WA Pro to display compact data trends inline. This small but mighty data visualization component is the first of many charting features to come.

🤖 AI Tooling

To make it easier for your preferred AI coding assistants to get to know the library and produce more accurate results, we’ve added an llms.txt file for LLM-friendly context of component APIs and an Agent Skill for progressive disclosure of deeper context about component APIs, component usage, theming, and more. (these are experimental and we’re actively looking for feedback.)

These new AI features are in their early stages, and we’d love to hear your feedback so that we can improve the output. Give us a shout through any of the normal channels (DiscordGitHub, or email) to let us know what’s working and what isn’t!

🤸 Flippin’ Great Icons

We’ve updated <wa-icon> to support Font Awesome 7.1, so FA Pro+ users can use the new, ever-practical Utility icon pack with Web Awesome.

Additionally, we’ve put a new spin on <wa-icon> to bring the FA and WA APIs closer than ever. 🫶 Thanks to a couple of enterprising contributors and our own resident FA-turned-WA designer Brian, the same rotating, flipping, and animating you enjoy with Font Awesome icons is now supported in Web Awesome.

🐛 Pest Control

We exterminated a lot of items from our pest control to-do list (seriously, it’s a lot) with big thanks to many of you in the community who contributed fixes. Check out the changelog for the full list of bug fixes and other improvements we have to offer in 3.2.

That’s all our reporters have for now. Stay awesome, friends.
